Behind the Canvas: My creative process and Inspiration.
My paintings shift between abstracted-nature, impressions and purely intuitive non-objective compositions. Built on layers of soft and emotive colors, gestural mark making and mixed media, the paintings evolve with each layer of paint, as I follow the ebb and flow of the process.
I hope to create paintings which exude a vibrant life energy. To use paint to express the beauty, complexity and the silent eloquence of life and nature.
My preferred medium is acrylic on canvas and paper, but I also enjoy working with other mediums to expand and nurture my creative expression.

The inspiration comes from a blend of influences, from the gifts of mother nature, the impressions of the Old Masters to the ever evolving contemporary culture, from the emotional rawness of the Abstract Expressionists to the timeless elements of composition, light, and movement.
Every aspect of my life influences my art. Be it growing up with vitiligo, a decade long corporate career, travelling or the incredible past few years of motherhood where the joy, love, the vulnerable and tender moments of parenting and the trusting of my instincts have changed me in unexpectedly beautiful ways! Seeing the world through my 3-year-old's eyes has rekindled my sense of wonder and simplicity. The way he paints or scribbles, his carefree approach to living and loving never ceases to inspire me.
My intention is to transfer this raw feeling of freedom, of celebrating imperfections, and finding beauty and calm amidst the chaos and adventure of life into my paintings.
